Tropical Storm Julian forms over the open Atlantic

Tropical Depression Eleven strengthened into Tropical Storm Julian Sunday morning.

What You Need To Know

  • Julian is located far from land
  • It’ll continue heading northeast over open water
  • It’s forecast to dissipate over the northern Atlantic early this week

Tropical Storm Julian is in the open Atlantic between Bermuda and the Azores. It’s moving northeast, but will turn toward the north on Monday.

It’ll likely become post-tropical Monday evening before dissipating in the north Atlantic mid-week.

Julian will have no effects on the U.S.

However, powerful Hurricane Ida will bring severe impacts to Louisiana before heading northeast this week. We’re also watching three other disturbances, including Tropical Depression Eleven.
