What was Tropical Depression Seven is now Tropical Storm Fiona, the sixth named storm in the Atlantic this season.
Fiona became a tropical storm on Wednesday, Sept. 14. Even though wind shear and dry air will prevent it from significantly intensifying, but some additional strengthening is expected later this week.
Regardless of strength, this cyclone will likely bring strong winds and heavy rainfall to the Leeward Islands, the Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico by Friday.
As of now, most models agree that this system will continue moving west, interacting with the islands.
