Harmonious signage and concept art now on display in World Showcase Plaza

Honestly, while not attempting to be dramatic, this is certainly one of the most drastic visual changes made to EPCOT in its history.

This, coupled with the full destruction of the central spine, marks a very sad day for Disney Parks.

These barges are horrific. And there’s only one brought in so far …

The idea these units sit in the middle of the lagoon for a 10-12 hour operating day, only being used as intended for a 20 minute show upon park closing, simply boggles the mind.

The Disney of yesteryear would have moved heaven and earth (literally) to incorporate the elements required for the show, while not ruining the beautiful sight-lines of the lagoon. Heck, why would they not have used World of Color type technology that could have dropped down into the water and disappeared during the day? With no daytime visual intrusion?

The irony being, this set-up looks quick, cheap, and lazy – yet cost an absolute fortune. Because of what it cost, it is likely to be there for quite some time now.

As someone who adores fountains and most water features, no amount of spray nozzles or gigantic water geysers are enough to mask the big, black, bloated pieces of metal in the middle of Disney’s crowning achievement of a lagoon.

This is the same company that designed the Tower of Terror facade the way they did, because it was partially visible with the Morocco pavilion – from across this very same lagoon.

Hope springs eternal, but gosh this is awful.
